Sanandaj is the capital of Kurdistan province, in the west of Iran and one of the mountainous regions of Iran. If you follow the news of Iran, you may have heard a lot these days because of their courageous protests against Iranian government. One of the routes that reach it from the east of Sanandaj is the route of Abhar (ابهر) and Qiedar (قیدار).
Abhar
Abhar is a city in the Zanjan province of Iran, located about 220 km northwest of Tehran. It is the capital of Abhar county, which has a population of about 200,000 people. Abhar is near on the Abhar river, which flows from the Zagros mountains to the Caspian Sea. This city is famous for its agriculture, especially its production of grapes, apples, and pomegranates.
Qeidar/Qeydar
Qeydar (Qeidar) is a city in the Zanjan province of Iran, located about 100 km southwest of Abhar. It is the capital of Qeydar district, which has a population of about 30,000 people. Qeydar is an ancient city that dates back to the pre-Islamic era. It is home to the Qeidar Nabi Mausoleum, which is a historical monument that belongs to one of the prophets of the Bani Israili clan. The mausoleum was built in the 8th century and has a distinctive dome and plaster molding. The city is also famous for its natural attractions, such as its mineral springs, waterfalls, and caves. The local language on people in Zanjan is Turkish, however, they all can speak Persian language as their second language. You can visit Zanjan with me in this video.
